In 2025, China exported a total of 70,199 metric tons of salted hog casings, representing a 5.6% year-on-year increase. This volume accounted for 77.5% of China’s total hog casing exports for the year. In terms of value, exports reached $510.75 million, up 9.1% compared to the previous year.
Trade in salted hog casing was mainly by processing trade with supplied materials, which accounted for 40,709 tons—or 58.0% of total export volume. This highlights China’s strong position as a key processing hub in the global hog casing supply chain.
Hog Casing Export Destinations
China shipped salted hog casings to 34 countries and regions in 2025. The top three markets were the United States, Germany, and South Africa. Together, these three countries imported 40,109 tons of Chinese salted hog casings, making up 57.1% of total exports. This high concentration underscores the critical importance of these three markets to China’s hog casing industry.
Hog Casing Exporting Provinces
Based on CN hog casing export data of 2025, a total of 17 provinces and municipalities in China have been in exporting salted hog casings. The leading three regions were Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Zhejiang. Combined, these three areas exported 57,064 tons, which accounted for 81.3% of the national total. This extreme regional concentration reflects a well-established industrial cluster centered in China’s eastern coastal provinces.
