Natural casings are edible films made from the intestines of animals such as pigs, sheep, and cattle through physical processes such as cleaning and salting. Because they retain the natural collagen structure, they are breathable, moisture-permeable, elastic, and flexible, making them a natural packaging carrier for traditional sausages, salami, and other meat products.
